Fiery welcome to Big B's 'Nishabd'

Varanasi, Mar 2 (UNI) The Amitabh Bachchan and Jiah Khan starrer 'Nishabd' opened to protests by college-goers here today.

Students of Mahatama Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (MGKV) university and Harishchandra College tore and set afire posters of the film outside the Spice KCM cinema hall, just when the first show of the film had begun.

Terming the story line of the Ram Gopal Verma directed film, about the romance between an 60-year-old man and a teenage girl, an ''insult to Indian culture'', the protestors threatened to intensify the stir, if the film was not withdrawn in Varanasi.

Getting the information, police rushed to the spot and prevented the matter from worsening.
