Congress moves 'No Confidence' motion against Guj speaker
Gandhinagar, Mar 2 (UNI) The Opposition Gujarat Congress Legislature Party has filed a 'No confidence motion' against Assembly Speaker Mangaldas Patel.
Leader of the Opposition Arjun Modhwadia told UNI here today that the 'No Confidence motion' was filed by him against Mr Patel on February 26.
Mr Modhwadia said a written complaint was given to Assembly Secretary D M Patel in wake of total one-sided approach of the Speaker in the functioning of the House.
As per the rules of the House, the no-confdience motion will come for voting after the 12-days from the date of complaint, Mr Modhwadia said.
When asked, the senior Congress leader said there are several reasons to move the motion and they will be disclosed when the motion comes up on the floor of the House for debate and voting.
The Speaker had expelled four Congress MLAs for the entire Budget Session on the very second-day, February 23, for their unruly behaviour and threatened the administrative staff of the House.
Since then both ruling BJP and opposition Congress had tough fights over all the issues taken up for debate in the House.
