CM honours Mauritian Hindi writer

New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today hosted a reception in honour of eminent Hindi writer from Mauritius Abhimanyu Anat and well-known Urdu poetess from Pakistan, Fahmida Riyaz.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms Dikshit said both Hindi and Urdu literature had been disseminating human values.

She called upon writers of India, Mauritius and Pakistan to come forward and inculcate a sense of harmony, co-existence and cooperation.

Mr Anat presented a poem on India and described Mauritius as his birthplace and India as place of cultural heritage, while Ms Fahmida presented a 'Nazm' on Delhi.

The reception was jointly organized by the state government's Hindi and Urdu Academies at the residence of the chief minister.

Well-known Hindi and Urdu writers and MLAs Jagdish Mukhi, Ramakant Goswami and Rajesh Lilothia were also present on the occasion.
