Tiwari shortly to vacate Chief Minister House

Dehradun, Mar 1 (UNI) Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand N D Tiwari would very soon shift to his new abode at Forest Research Institute premises.

According to official sources, a bungalow situated at FRI premises has been prepared for the former Chief Minister in accordance with his liking. The building was earlier the office of Power Corporation and was selected personally by Mr Tiwari. Half of his household baggage has been already shifted to his new residence.

Mr Tiwari submitted his resignation to Governor Sudarshan Aggarwal on Wednesday following the defeat of the Congress in the recently- concluded Assembly election. It could manage only 21 seats out of 69 constituencies for which election was held on February 21. The Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as the single largest party with 34 seats in the February 27 counting.

Mr Tiwari had taken over as Chief Minister and shifted to the Chief Minister House located in Circuit House in year 2002, when Congress had won the first Assembly election in the state and formed the government with 36 out of total 70 seats.
