Srinagar, Mar 1 (UNI) Business and other activities remained disrupted for several hours in and around Kothibagh girls school near here due to unprecedented security arrangements following Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad's visit there.

All roads leading to schools, on the busy Exchange Road, were sealed and a large number of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and state police officials were deployed.

Sharp shooters had taken position on the high rise building in the area to thwart any militant attack during the Chief Minister's visit.

Police and CRPF officials were issued special identification passes.

We have strict instruction from the high command not to allow even students, a police official said near police station Maisuma.

A number of newsmen were also turned back by the police official.

Interestingly, the local authorities had also repaired a portion of road near the school ahead of the visit to impress upon Mr Azad that the roads in the city are good condition, businessmen in the area alleged.
