Opposition armed with issues set to grill UPA during budget session

Ranchi, Mar 1 (UNI) Induction of suspended Forward Bloc MLA Bhanu Pratap Shahi in the Madhu Koda government, rape of a local tribal girl in Uttar Pradesh and Haatgamharia road were among the few major issues likely to dominate the month-long budget sesion of the Jharkhand Assembly that begins here tomorrow.

Governor Syed Sibtey Razi would address the House tomorrow, the opening day of the session which would conclude on April 5.

According to the calendar, the House would have 22 working days and the budget was scheduled to be placed on the floor of the House on February 19.

Enthused by the poll results in Punjab and Uttarakhand, the Oppositon BJP was planning to come down heavily on the ruling UPA led by Chief Minister Madhu Koda.

Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda today said they would highlight the inefficiency of the present government and leave it to the people to decide on the state's fate.

Among the burning issues at the moment was the induction of Mr Shahi as the health minister for whom the Forward Bloc sought seat in the Opposition.

Mr Shahi was suspended from the party and maintained that he was not bound by any whip of the party.
