Lalu to pray for world peace in temple town Mathura
Mathura, Mar 1 (UNI) Railway Minister Lalu Prasad will participate in a yajna for world peace on the sandy beaches of river Yamuna here tommorow.
This is the 118th yajna, which was previously held in Ujjain, Allahabad, Bhopal and several districts of Nepal.
Presently, the yajna is going on in the holy city since February 19, where 108 Shivlings have been set up, specially for the event.
The devouts, including 1100 couples, could be seen chanting ''Sita Ram Sita Ram...''. The 18,000 'shlokas' of the Shrimad Bhagwat Puran are being read at the occasion.
''Today when the threat of terrorism is haunting the society, yazna can prove to be an affective tool to pray for the highly needed world peace,'' Nepali Baba, who has come specially for the event, told UNI today.
''A yajna is the only way to create an environmental balance. Is is done with the help of five elements -- seasame seeds, barley, rice, ghee and jaggery. The solution of any problem comes easily if it is done regularly,'' the Baba added.
