Indian Judiciary 'Absolutely Free' : Law Minister

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Judiciary in India is absolutely free and the Law and Justice Ministry has no say in its functioning, a visiting Afghan delegation was told today.

Law and Justice Minister Hans Raj Bhardwaj also informed the 11-member delegation led by Afghanistan's Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ghulam Farooq Wardak that criminal justice is the responsibility of the Home Affairs Ministry.

The visiting delegation included Afghanistan Supreme Court Judges Mohammad Omar Babrakzai and Mohammad Alim Nasimi and prominent members of both Houses of Afghan Parliament Burhanullah Shinwari and Liaqatullah Babakerkhil.

The visitors showed keen interest in the functioning of India's Law and Justice Ministry and apprised the Minister about the Justice system in Afghanistan, an official statement said.
