Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway by Sep: T R Baalu
New Delhi, Mar 1: The expected date of completion of the much-awaited Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway has been revised from June to September this year, union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways T R Baalu told Parliament today.
Major part of the project, expect the elevated stretch between Rao Tula Ram Chowk and Palam, was likely to be completed by April itself, he said in a written reply in Rajya Sabha.
There was no budgetary loss due to the delay in completion, he added.
On February 6, Mr Baalu had opened to traffic flyovers in Mahipalpur in Delhi and Udyog Vihar Crossing on National Highway-8 in Gurgaon.
The opening of Mahipalpur (length 1800 m) and Udyog Vihar (length 1500 m) flyovers came after Sector-31 and Jharsa flyovers which were opened in November last year.
Two flyovers of the National Highway Authority of India project at South City and IFFCO Chowk in Gurgaon were slated to be opened tomorrow.
