Lucknow, Mar 1: The ruling Samajwadi Party today said that it will move a revision petition in the Supreme Court against its order for a preliminary CBI probe on the disproporionate assets charge against party leader and UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.

''CBI is a biased agency used by the central government against the opposition and the SC has only ordered the probe by any independent agency'', SP general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav said here.

Talking to mediapersons, Mr Yadav said the party accepts the SC ruling but would go for the revision petition on the CBI probe.

''We will go before the SC urging it to order probe by any other agency, including that by a sitting judge, but not by the CBI'', he said. He also refused the Opposition's demand that CM should step down on moral grounds. ''There is absolutely no need,'' he asserted.

The SP leader said it has been proved in several cases that CBI had been used by the Centre to target the leaders of the opposition parties and its honesty was ''doubtfull.'' Going on the details of the SC verdict, he said the court has not given its ruling on the charges made by the Congress petitioner but wanted the preliminary probe to clear the CM from the allegations.

He also said the SC decision also says about appointing a chartered accountant in the probe but SP also wants a similar accountant from its side also.

''The allegations of the petition were also fake as it started from Rs 500 crore and came down to Rs 10 crore itself during the SC hearing'', he further added.

When asked if SP did not have fiath in the CBI then why had it handed probes such as those into the Nithari serial killings and Kavita Choudhury eposide to the agency, Mr Yadav said these were handed over to the CBI on ''public pressure.''
