Chugh takes over as J'khand's chief secretary

Ranchi, Mar 1 (UNI) Development Commissioner A K Chugh today took over the additional charge as Jharkhand's Chief Secretary.

The state government, after failing to find a suitable candidate, appointed Mr Chugh for the top bureaucratic post following M K Mandal's retirement yesterday.

With many contenders vying hard for the post in the past few weeks, the state government's decision to appoint Mr Chugh was understood to have bought time keeping in mind the budget session beginning tomorrow.
