Agro-experts warn wheat farmers to beware of Karnal Bunt
Ludhiana, Mar 1 (UNI) The Punjab Agricultural University here has stressed that it was very important that good quality fungicides be sprayed at the seed crop of wheat at heading stage.
The experts of the PAU, in an advisory to the farmers, have recommended spraying of pesticides like Tilt in a proportion of 200 ml in 160 ltr water per acre to save it from diseases at the nascent stage.
The weather had become congenial for the spread of diseases like Karnal Bunt, and if precautionary measures were not taken at the right time, it could cause major loss to the crop, the agro-scientists warned.
