Accuse of murder aquitted

Barasat, Mar 1 (UNI) A 40-year-old accused of murdering his 90-year-old-mother-in-law two years ago in North 24 Parganas was acquitted by a Fast Track court here today.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Baidyanath Bhaduri set free Alok Mondal from the charges of strangulating his mother-in-law Sukhada Mondal in August 2005 to grab her property.

The prosecution had failed to prove the charges leveled against him, said the defense lawyer Bhaskar Chakrabarty.
