Tekchandani to take charge, after RAK Airways sacks CEO

Dubai, Feb 28 (UNI) An Indian national will take charge as the new head of fledgling RAK Airways, the UAE's fourth national airline, after it sacked its chief executive officer Jack Romero, news reports said.

''Jack Romero did not quit the company but was terminated,'' explained Dr Khater Massaad, Managing Director and one of the board members of RAK Airways, adding he was unable to deliver on what was expected of him.

Mr Romero, who joined the company in May last year, will be replaced by Mr Kishu Tekchandani, who was shortlisted for the post of fulltime Chairman for Airport Authority of India.

Mr Tekchandani, who is expected to take over tomorrow, is given the brief to accelerate the launch of the airline as per schedule in April this year, quoted Emirates Today.

RAK Airways has received the Air Operator's Certificate from the federal government's General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
