stranded foreigners in north Kashmir heights rescued
Srinagar, Feb 28 (UNI) A joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army today rescued the three foreigners who had got stranded at Afarvat, in Gulmarg area of North Kashmir.
A police spokesman said information was received that three foreign tourists-- Ms Rogni from Norway, Guy London and Eudo both from Isreal-- were stranded due to heavy snowfall at Hapatkhud several kilometers from world famous ski resort of Gulmarg since yesterday.
He said two police teams were rushed to the scene from Gulmarg and Drang, Tangmarg to rescue the tourists.
He said both the teams had reached the spot and they are on their way back to Gulmarg alongwith foreigners.
Official sources said one of the tourist is injured. However, this could not be confirmed officially.
The entire region, including Gulmarg, Khilanmarg and Affarwat experienced heavy snowfall recently.
