Rangsons Electronics Pvt Ltd in EMS global alliance

Bangalore, Feb 28 (UNI) Five global companies in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), including Rangsons Electronics Pvt Ltd (REPL) of India, have formed an EMS alliance to jointly attack the growing market across the world.

EMS Alliance, which had its annual meeting here recently, have finalised the strategy for the year ahead and recognised India as not only a solid manufacturer, but also a huge customer base with global majors setting up operations in the country.

Rangsons CEO Pavan Ranga, the Co-Founder of EMS Alliance, told newspersons here that the Global EMS industry was currently growing at 12 per cent and was expected to be a 200 billion Dollar industry by 2009.

He said the electronic industry in India was currently around 25 billion Dollar and was expected to grow to US Dollar 70 billion.

Currently, EMS had a three per cent share at 773 million Dollar.

EMS Alliance Chairman Knut Pogost said the Alliance had grown from strength to strength over the past few years and currently had a combined employee strength of 13,000 with a production area of 27,000 sqm. As many as 36 Surface Mount Technology production lines were available.
