Police official arrested on murder charges

Kolkata, Feb 28 (UNI) Police today arrested the Officer in-Charge of Katwa police station for allegedly murdering a Congress supporter during the polling for the governing body of a college in Burdwan district on February 25.

Accused Debojyoti Saha would be produced in the court today, Home Secretary Prasad Ranjan Ray told newspersons.

The home secretary had directed the police to arrest the OC after complaints were lodged that he had shot at Congress leader Tuhin Samanta without any provocation.
