New Delhi, Feb 28 (UNI) While welcoming the Union Budget, presented by Finance Minister P Chidambaram in the Lok Sabha today, as one with "a long-term perspective", UTV's Ronnie Screwvala today bemoaned the fact that there was nothing in the budget for the media.

''Specifically for the media there is nothing, though, we were looking for some parity between the print and electronic media.

Also the introduction of service tax for content related to advertising agencies and telecom needs to be studied in the fine print, Mr Screwvala said in his reaction to the proposals of the budget.

He, however, lauded the budget as one with a long term perspective.

''I think the GDP growth of ten per cent; leaving capital gains exemptions intact; and prioritisation of infrastructure and education are very clear long term statements,''Mr Screwvala said.

''Yes the increase in dividend disbursement tax; and bringing IT companies under MAT can have a temporary shadow on the stock market,'' he said.
