Meghalaya Observes national science Day
Shillong, Feb 28 (UNI) Meghalaya today celebrated the National Science Day to mark the discovery of ''Raman Effect'' by physicist Sir C. V. Raman on this day in 1928.
This discovery brought India first and only Nobel Prize in science till date.
The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) N. E. Region local chapter and Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), Shillong, had organised the programme.
A lecture on 'Raman Effect' and science quiz-competitions were organized, in which students participated actively with enthusiasm.
