Jammu, Feb 28 (UNI) With dreams of a rosy future, when a jubilant and overjoyed Famida set out on a journey back home little did she know what inferility was to befall her and it would turn out to be her last odyssey. An odyssey that would end in heaven! Famida, who had lost her right leg in a terror attack at her native village Laar in Udhampur district two years ago, underwent surgery and a prosthetic leg was affixed to her person at the army's medical camp in Poonch.

She was returning home with her husband Ali Mohammad and their seven-month-old son after going under the knife.

Famida was on cloud nine after the operation, which made her walk without the aid of crutches during a trial at the medical camp.

But hardly did she know her elation and happiness were short-lived.

The bus she was travelling in with her husband and son met with an accident last evening and the trio found a place among 11 fatalities.

Famida is survived by two children, who were back home waiting to see their mother back on her feet.

The army had organised a prosthetic limb fitment camp with some NGOs for people who lost their limbs in terror-related incidents and accidents.

Over the past five decades, several people living near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch and Rajouri districts have lost their limbs in various militancy-related incidents and accidents.
