BSF-BDR border talks begin
New Delhi, Feb 28 (UNI) The Indo-Bangladesh border coordination conference between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) began here today after a gap of more than a year.
While BSF Director General A K Mitra led the Indian delegation, the 19-member Bangladesh delegation was led by Major General Shakil Ahmed.
Illegal influx of Bangladeshis in India, obstruction to developmental works within 150 yards from the international border, smuggling of cattle and fake Indian currency and Indian insurgent groups hiding in Bangladesh are major issues to be discussed at the two-day conference.
However, officials contended that all outstanding issues related to Border Management would be discussed.
