Bandh total, delimitation politics snowball
Guwahati, Feb 28 (UNI) The Bodo dominated areas of Asom today observed a bandh following reports of Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency getting de-reserved under the new delimitation policy carried out by the Election Commission.
The Bodo Peoples Progressive Front (BPPF) today called a 12-hour road and rail roko call on March 2 as the protest against delimitation has been intensified thoughout the state.
A delegation of the BPPF, led by President Hagrama Mohillary, is camping in New Delhi trying to convince the EC not to de-reserve the constituency.
Kokrajhar has been the bastion of Bodos for the past 50 years, but the new delimitation is going to change that soon.
