Teledata to set up Total Business Offshoring unit
Bangalore, Feb 27: Teledata, along with its subsidiary eSys Technologies, is setting up a Total Business Offshoring facility at Rajeev Gandhi Chandigarh Technology Park, in Chandigarh.
Disclosing this to newsmen here Teledata Managing Director K Padmanabhan said Rs 90 crore would be invested in the first phase and the facility, coming up on a six acre plot, would have a workforce of 500, which would be eventually be scaled up to 2000 in the second phase. The investment in the second phase was around Rs 110 crore, he added.
Replying to queries he said TBO was going to be the concept of the future and the market potential was immense.
Answering a question he said the company was also discussing with the state governments in South India to start a PC manufacturing facility in any one of the states. The company had sought 30 acres of land for the purpose, he added saying that, all the three states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka were keen in having the facility.
He said the company had sold 50 lakh PCs in India last year. The PC market was expected to cross 20 million by 2010. The Singapore headquartered eSys had four advanced automated PC manufacturing facilities in Singapore, Los Angeles, Dubai and New Delhi which produced the world's best priced computers, he added.
