Speed Post network extends to 25 towns
New Delhi, Feb 27 (UNI) Speed Post service will be extended to 25 more towns in the national network from March 1, aiming to provide more convenience to the customers.
The new speed post centres include 12 in Tamil Nadu, six each in Haryana and Karnataka and one in West Bengal.
All these centres will be fully computerised and will have 'Speednet' online tracking system in place. Apart from operations, these centres will have customer service centre and speed post business office to manage the entire service in a professional manner.
Speed Post revenue crossed Rs 408 crore during 2005-06 and in the current fiscal, it is expected to go beyond Rs 450 crore.
With this, there are 211 speed post centres in the national network and more than 1,000 Centres in the state network.
