K'taka BJP celebrates win in Uttarakhand, Punjab
Bangalore, Feb 27 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party in Karnataka celebrated the party's electoral success in Uttarakhand and Punjab, with workers distributing sweets and bursting fire crackers in the city and other places in the State.
Party State President D V Sadananda Gowda said the results in the two North Indian States were clear indicators of the political change the country would see in the coming days. People had rejected the Congress in the two States for its ''anti-people'' policies and the ''anti-Congress'' wave was spreading fast across the country.
The results were also a reflection of the failure of the UPA Government at the Centre. The electorate had reacted to the Union Government's failure to rein in the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities and inflation rates. Besides, the Congress was paying the price for ignoring the good work done by the previous NDA Government, he claimed.
