Kerala to decide soon on SC verdict on Narendran Commission
Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 27 (UNI) Kerala Law Minister M Vijayakumar today said the government will soon take a decision on steps to be taken in the wake of the Supreme Court scrapping the Justice Narendran Commission report on the creamy layer matter.
The government was looking into all legal angles and discussions were on, he told reporters here.
There would not be any delay in taking a decision on the issue, he said, and added the government was also thinking of filing a review petition in the SC.
Mr Vijayakumar added that certain things lacked clarity in the SC order and it would have to be sorted out.
The SC had quashed the Justice K K Narendran Commission report recommending raising annual income limit from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs three lakh for exclusion of the creamy layer from the backward classes for the purpose of reservation. The court had also asked the government to set up a fresh commission to go into all aspects of the matter.
