Jade Goody arrives in Capital on visit to India, keeps off media
New Delhi, Feb 27 (UNI) British actress Jade Goody, who was in the news last month for her allegedly racist remarks on Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty on the Big Brother reality show in Britain, is in India on a private visit.
Goody arrived in New Delhi yesterday afternoon on a four-day visit. She checked in at Delhi's Le Meridien hotel, sources in the hotel told UNI.
She was accompanied by three people, her publicist Jazz Barton and Sally Andrews. Her partner, Jack Tweed and her two children are believed to have remained in Britain.
The sources in the Le Meridien hotel said Goody has an online booking in a club room of the hotel for four days till March 1. They said that immediately after her arrival, Goody sat in the lobby for about an hour, virtually unrecognised.
Infact, it was only when somebody spotted her eating masala dosa in the hotel's restaurant that the news started to spread of her visit.
However, immediately thereafter, she left the hotel for a visit in the city and soon was surrounded by a horde of mediapersons requesting for bytes from her.
''I'm here on a private visit, for four days," she said.
Asked about her experience in India, Goody said,''people have been really nice out here. It's private and there are no cameras or anything. I've paid for the trip. That's all I want to say.'' Goody, however, refused to answer any futher queries from the media.
Those accompanying her also refused to talk to the media.
''We have only just arrived and are very tired,'' one of them said. Then, in the evening, Goody and her companions had visited a coffee shop.
Shilpa Shetty's publicist Dale Bhagwagar denied that her visit had anything to do with Shilpa.
''Shilpa was not aware of the impending visit. She has not been contacted by Goody,''he said.
