Counting for 60 assembly seats begins in Manipur
Imphal, Feb 27 (UNI) Counting of votes for 60 assembly seats in Manipur, which went to the polls in three phases on February 8, 14 and 23, began at 0800 hrs this morning amid tight security arrangements.
The counting was taken up at 12 counting centres and 18 counting halls at the district headquarters and sub-divisional headquarters.
For Imphal West, the counting is taking place at DC Office in four halls, Imphal, and for Imphal East the counting is on at the office hall of the Deputy Commissioner and Food Processing office.
At Thoubal, Churachandpur and Imphal East districts, the vote count is being held in two halls each.
Senapati, Ukhrul, Bishenpur, Chandel, Tamenglong are having one hall each for the count.
A three-tier security ring has been stationedat all the counting centers and security personnel have started stopping the movement of traffic near the counting centres.
Results are likely to pour in soon.
