Bomb hoax at police quarters in Chennai

Chennai, Feb 27 (UNI) An anonymous letter saying that bombs would explode at the residential police quarters in Mannady in North Chennai turned out to be a hoax today.

Police said the letter was received by the Selaiyur police yesterday. It said bombs had been planted at Mannady police quarters and they would explode today.

A special police team along with the bomb disposal squad and sniffer dogs rushed to the spot and conducted a thorough search.

However, no explosives were found.

Police were looking for the person who had written the letter.
