BJP to decide Legislature Party leaders in Uttarakhand, Punjab
New Delhi, Feb 27 (UNI) The BJP today expressed its happiness over the comfortable majority the party was enjoying so far in Punjab and Uttarakhand, where counting for state assembly polls was on, and said the results were according to its expectations and trends.
BJP President Rajnath Singh told newspersons that the Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP combine in Punjab were already in an unbeatable position while the BJP was on its way to establish its own government in Uttarakhand.
The BJP has convened a meeting of its Parliamentary Board in the evening where the leadership would decide upon the BJP Legislature Party leaders in the two states, he said.
Mr Singh claimed the Congress, which was in power in both states, had earned the people's wrath by pursuing anti-people's policies and was unable to implement its promises made to the people in previous elections. It had discriminated against the majority of people by pursuing appeasement policy to win the support of its vote bank, he alleged.
