Soren referred to RIMs for health check in Ranchi
Ranchi, Feb 26 (UNI) Jailed Former Union Coal Minister Sibu Soren, who is suffering from various ailments, will undergo angio-cardiography at the Rajendra Institute of Medical sciences(RIMS) here, doctors attending him today said.
Dumka district civil surgeon Dr T Hembrom told UNI today that the medical team monitoring Soren's health had already apprised the jail authorities in this regard.
It was recommended to send him to the RIMS for the tests as the district did not have any equipment for such examination Dr Hembrom said.
Soren has been undergoing life-term in Tihar jail in New Delhi for the murder of his personal assistant Shashinath Jha. Soren was shifted to Dumka later last year as his advocates argued that the JMM leader was required to appear frequently in various local courts in Jharkhand in connection with some other cases pending here.
However, he had failed to appear before the Jamtara, Dumka and Giridih courts for various cases in the past few weeks citing ill health.
Dr Hembom said the JMM leader was weak for the past few days after he complained about vomitting tendency.
Soren was shifted to Dumka jail amid controversy after a Jamtara court ordered to put him at Jamtara jail. The IG (Prisons) has ordered to shift Soren to Dumka Central Jail, which is in his parliamentary consituency.
Among the prominent cases being heard in Jharkhand are the three-decade-old Chirudih massacre in which 11 people were killed and the Kurku murder case regarding killing of four persons in Giridih.
