Sankararaman murder case hearing deferred till March 20
Puducherry, Feb 26 (UNI) Puducherry Principal Districts and Sessions Judge M Chinna Pandi, hearing the Sankararaman murder case in which Kanchi acharyas Jayendra Saraswathi and Vijeyendra Saraswathi are the prime accused, today posted the hearing of the case for March 20.
When the case came up before the court, 11 of the 24 accused, including the seers, failed to turn up and separate petitions citing the reasons for their absence were filed by their counsels.
Following this, the judge posted the case for March 20.
It may be recalled that the proceedings in the case could not be taken up here as the Supreme Court had stayed it on a Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by the defence. The matter is still pending before the apex court.
