Patna, Feb 26 (UNI) The Bihar Chamber of Commerce (BCC) today lauded the Rail budget, saying it would fulfil a lot of expectations of trade.

BCC president O P Sah said no hike in freight rate despite ever increasing cost of fuel was indeed a big relaxation for business and industry.

Cut in freight rates for diesel and petrol, construction of freight corridor stations, reduction in the freight of iron ore and lime stone, introduction of new rail lines to aid steel power plants, huge railway investment for container operations will definitely give a big boost to the economy of the country.

He also hailed the reduction in passengers' tariff.

Welcoming the introduction of scheme of E-Tickets through ATMs, he hoped the proposed system of providing rail tickets and reservation at places of public importance such as petrol pumps would be based on public private partnership.

Thanking the Railway Minister for proposing new electric loco works unit at Madhepura and wagon bogie complex at Dalmia Nagar, he said all rail workshop projects should be made completely functional as early as possible.
