Raghavji trumpets achievements in Assy
Bhopal, Feb 26 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Finance Minister Raghavji today said in the Assembly that the state was addressed as 'bimaru' and backward until three years back but the situation transformed afterwards as President A P J Abdul Kalam himself awarded the state for the fatest progress rate.
''Outstanding achievements were made in implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Prime Minister's Rural Roads Scheme, production of pulses, oilseeds and soybean,'' he said while presenting the 2007-08 Budget.
Pointing out that the Treasury Computerisation Project was awarded as the best information technology model by the Centre, Mr Raghavji added that the state's sportspersons bagged 63 medals, including 12 golds, at the recently-concluded Guwahati National Games.
