Opposition alleges improper allocation of Budget for AP

Hyderabad, Feb 26 (UNI) The Opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh today alleged that Railway Minister Lalu Prasad had not provided sufficient budget allocations and new railway lines for the state.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the United Progressive Alliance(UPA) Government had neglected the state in the last three years. The Railway Minister had not made any progressive allocations for the state in the last three years, and in the fourth budget he had rendered injustice to the state, he added.

BJP Floor Leader N Kishan Reddy alleged that the railway budget insulted the people of the state. Though eight Ministers and several MPs were representing the state, they could not achieve sufficient allocations for the state for the railway budget and new lines, Mr Kishan added.

CPI Floor leader Ch Venkata Reddy, while expressing his displeasure over the railway budget, said Mr Prasad had not given due representation to the state in his budget. The MPs and Ministers from the state should pressurise Mr Lalu Prasad to allocate sufficient funds and new projects in the state, Mr Venkata added.

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee President K Keshava Rao lauded the budget but regretted that it was unfortunate that the Railway Minister had not given due representation to the state in his budget. The Railway budget had not given proper allocations for new lines and projects in the state, Mr Keshava added.
