No rescheduling of Parliament sittings: Dasmunsi

New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI) There will be no change in the schedule of sittings in the first phase of the Budget Session of Parliament.

The first phase would conclude on March 21 completing 19 sittings, Minister for Parliamentary Afairs P R Dasmunsi told media persons here informing about the outcome of the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of Parliament.

He said the Economic Survey would be presented tomorrow with the General Budget to be presented the following day.

The discussion on motion of thanks to the Presidential address would be taken up on March 1 and would be continued till March 5 with the reply on March 6.

On March 7, 8 and 9, discussion on the Railway Budget vote-on-account will take place with the reply to be made on March 9.

The General Budget vote-on-account would be debated on March 12, 13 and 14 with Finance Minister P Chidambaram to make a reply on March 15.

The discussion on price rise and Samjhauta Express blasts would be taken up after discussion on the motion of thanks to the President is over, Mr Dasmunsi said.

The Minister described as unfortunate the disruption caused by the Opposition at the time of presentation of Railway Budget by Railway Minister Lalu Prasad."It is for the first time that the BJP has tried to create a new precedent by disrupting a key Budget presentation for no reason whatsoever,"he said.
