Eleven army jawans among 15 people killed in bus accident

Jammu, Feb 26 (UNI) Eleven Army jawans were among 15 people killed today in a bus accident near Mahore in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The bus, hired by the Army, was on its way to Mahore from Reasi when it turned turtle and fell into a 300-metre-deep gorge at Gangote, 12 km from the destination, this evening, Inspector General of Police S P Vaid told UNI.

A family of three and the cleaner of the bus were among the civilians killed in the accident, he said.

Six seriously injured, including the driver, were shifted to the hospital at Mahore, the IGP added.

The jawans were reportedly returning after attending a six-day Artificial Limb Fitment Camp organised by the Army's Ace of Spades Division in the bordering Poonch and Rajouri districts.
