Congress hails Railway budget as "common man's budget"

Jaipur, Feb 26 (UNI) The State Congress hailed the railway budget presented today as ''common man's budget,'' saying Railway Minister Lalu Prasad has paid special to the farmers and rural people.

Rajasthan Pradesh Congress president BD Kalla, while welcoming the reduction in freight rate, expressed gratitude to UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the Railway Minister.

Mr Kalla said the budget was in tune with the UPA promise of providing relief to the common man during the last parliamentary elections.

RPCC general secretary Mumtaz Masih, Youth Congress general secretary Yogesh yadav said the reduction in freight rate would help to reign in inflation.
