Bangladeshi under trial prisoner escapes from jail
Shillong, Feb 26 (UNI) An under trial prisoner of Bangladeshi origin has escaped from Meghalaya's Tura district jail.
The escapee, identified as Mohammad Robi alias Pandit, from Bangladesh's Kharamura village managed to escape yesterday by scaling the wall in West Garo Hills District, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bikram Marak, told UNI over the phone.
Mr Marak said he was arrested for illegally entering India.
Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt to nab the escapee.
