Alfa Laval bids for 26 pct of India subsidiary

STOCKHOLM, Feb 26 (Reuters) Engineering group Alfa Laval said on Monday it had made a public offer worth about 700 million Swedish crowns (.2 million) to buy most of the remaining shares in its Indian subsidiary.

The planned purchase at Rs 875 (.81) per share would lift its stake in Mumbai-listed Alfa Laval India to 90 percent from 64 percent, the group said in a statement.

It said it expected the bid process to be concluded in June this year.
