Advocates abstain from work in Patna civil court
Patna, Feb 26 (UNI) Lawyers of Patna civil court today abstained from their work in protest against the killing of an advocate, Upendra Paswan, under Mashaurhi police station in the district on February 24.
In an emergency meeting held here under the chairmanship of district bar association president Jai Prakeash Singh, the advocates urged the state government to pay a compensation of Rs five lakh to the dependents of the victim.
They also demanded a government job for an eligible member of the victim's family.
Bihar young lawyers association also held a meeting and demanded compensation.
