4-day 'Phaguni Poonam Mela' from Feb 28 at Dakor

Anand, Feb 26 (UNI) The four-day ''Phaguni Poonam mela'', that attracts lakhs of pilgrims, will begin on February 28 at Dakor.

The Dakor administration has geared itself up for the event as it is estimated that around 15 lakh pilgrims will visit this temple town during these four days.

Kheda district collector R R Varsani today held a meeting with senior police officials, councillors and members of the Dakor temple managing committee to review the arrangements.

Pilgrims congregate at the Dakor temple after travelling on foot from all across Gujarat and even other states. The civic administration and the police have, therefore, decided to close all roads to Dakor from March 1 to March 4 for all types of vehicles.

Arrangements have also been made for setting up medical camps, and for providing free lodging and free meals to the ''padyatris''.
