Guwahati, Feb 24 (UNI) The Wildlife and Forest Department today restored six rescued elephants in the Manas National Park of Asom.

These elephants in the age-group of 3-6 years, had been rescued by the wildlife department's staff from different parts of the state in injured condition.

They were then treated at the wildlife rehabilitation centre at Borjuri near Panbari range of Kaziranga National Park in central Asom. After prolonged treatment and care at the rehabilitation centre, the elephants became fit for rehabiliation in the wild.

The Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) as per a MoU with the Asom government runs this wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centre with financial aid from International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW).
