Power supply to increase in rural areas: Chouhan

Shivpuri, MP, Feb 25 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said power supply will be increased in rural areas in future upon increase in power generation.

''Transformers will be installed and new lines will be laid in rural areas to curb transmission losses besides providing better quality,'' said Mr Chouhan, while addressing an election meeting in this district, which comes under Gwalior Lok Sabha constituency.

Mr Chouhan was here to canvass votes in favour of Ms Yashodhara Raje Scindia, the BJP candidate for Lok Sabha by-poll in Gwalior.

He said the state government accorded priority to development of rural areas. The government was making efforts to resolve problems of villagers.

On the occasion, SP leader Dharmendra Yadav and some of his supporters announced their decision to join the BJP.

State BJP President Narendra Singh Tomar was present during the meeting.
