Person arrested for circulating fake notes

Shillong, Feb 25 (UNI) Meghalaya Police has arrested one person for circulating fake currency notes in the state.

The accused, who hails from Nagaland, was arrested yesterday from DumDum area here along with 18 fake notes of Rs 500 denomination notes, Superintendent of Police M Kharkrang today said.

Mr Kharkrang had cautioned the public in this regard.

He said the counterfiet currency notes were in circulation in large scale in Asom and other states.

'' The notes are delivered to the agents here and elsewhere. We are on search to bust the racket of counterfeit notes,'' he said.
