Nine killed in road accident
Bhadravathi, Karnataka, Feb 25 (UNI) Nine people were killed and a four-year-old child was injured, when a van in which they were travelling collided head-on with a petrol tanker at Bhadravati bypass the early of today.
Police said while eight people were killed on the spot, a 10-year-old boy, succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
The victims belonging to two families hailing from Halkola village in Shimoga District, were returning to their village after visiting Lakshminarasimha Temple in Gubbi in Tumkur district when the mishap occurred.
The injured have been admitted to hospital.
The driver of the Petrol Tanker has been arrested.
