International Guwahati Trade Fair from tomorrow

Guwahati, Feb 25 (UNI) The 14th International Guwahati Trade Fair (IGTF), lone such mega event in the North East, will have Indonesia as the partner country this year, with former participants Thailand, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal and Egypt also likely to join it.

The trade fair would be held from February 26 to March 9, with a total of eight countries, besides participants from across the country, and 400 stalls set up to draw the crowds.

Informing this at a press meet here today, Mr Rajesh Das of the Industries and Trade Fair Association of Assam, main organisers of the IGTF, said, ''Entrepreneurs from all parts of the country as well as foreign nations will be given special focus in the trade fair.'' Indonesia would be participating in a trade exposition in Eastern India for the first time, he said, adding that a 40-member business delegation from Myanmar would also visit the IGTF.

''The trade fair will provide a platform for investors, producers and customers to offer a common forum over an extended period of time and mutual benefits would be reaped,'' Mr Das added.

He informed that from this year, the IGTF would also promote a state and a district of Asom, with the first honours going to neighbouring Meghalaya and Golaghat district of Asom.

He said, ''Selected entrepreneurs from these two places would be given free space and special interactive sessions with visiting foreign companies would be arranged for them.'' UNI
