ESC appoints Sanjiv Narayan as Chairman

New Delhi, Feb 25 (UNI) Mr Sanjiv Narayan has been appointed as the Chairman of the Electronics and Computer Software Export promotion Council (ESC).

A leading industrialist having a strong presence in the electronics industry, Mr Narayan was unanimously elected at the meeting of the Committee of Administration of the council held here recently.

''Mr Narayan can give the proactive leadership to the industry to achieve the competitive edge for taking the IT exports to 60 billion dollar mark by 2010,'' said ESC Executive Director D K Sareen.

Recent announcement of the semi-conductor policy, paradigm shifts taking place in the value added software companies to shift their production bases to India will redefine the IT segment in the country, he added.

The Committee of Administration also elected Dixon Utilities&Exports Ltd Chaiman Sunil Vachani, Concord Sales Devices Proprietor Prem M Goel and Interra Information Technology India Ltd President and Managing Director Asoke K Laha, as Vice Chairmen of ESC.
