CM urges Youth Cong workers to strengthen party
Hyderabad, Feb 25 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today urged the State Youth Congress workers to strive hard to strengthen the party from the grass-root level and solve the problems of the downtrodden and the poor.
Addressing the Youth Congress State Committee office bearers at Gandhi Bhavan here, he said the Youth Congress workers should take state government's welfare programmes to the grass-root level.
He said the government had taken up a several welfare projects, including irrigation projects to help the farmers.
With the government initiating welfare schemes for the poor, including minorities, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes in the state, the extremists activities in the state had come down.
On TDP's allegation on irrigation projects, he said the TDP was trying to obstruct the irrigation projects because they feared about their existance once the projects were completed.
Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee President K Keshava Rao said the Youth Congress should work to gain confidence of the people.
Andhra Pradesh Youth Congress President T J R Sudhakara Babu said the Youth Congress office bearers should work to strengthen the party.
All India Youth Congress Vice President Mary Dipthi Varghese said the Youth Congress should work as bridge between the government and the people.
