Panaji, Feb 25 (UNI) The BJP has decided to go it alone in the coming elections to the State Legislative Assembly.

Announcing this at the party headquarters here today, the BJP Leader in the Assembly Manohar Parrikar said the party would not like to enter into any strategic pre-poll alliance with any other regional party.

Asked whether the BJP would admit the South Goa MP Parliament Churchil Alemao, who had decided to quit the Congress, if he so descred, Mr Parrikar said that they would "decide to cross the bridge when we approach it''.

Earlier, he welcomed former Janata Party leader Kanja Gaoncaer from Valpoi and advocate Ganapathi Gaonkar from Parye segments, along with 200 of their followers, who joined the BJP today.

Former Governor of Goa and Maharashtra Mohammed Fazal, along with his wife, joined the BJP last week.
